The Mark West Fund for Women seeks to support women and girls to achieve their full potential by funding locally-based community groups in Bedfordshire that have the expertise to address issues of inequality at a grassroots level. Projects must be targeted at women and/or girls aged over 11 and must incorporate one or more of the following strategic priorities
#iwill is a UK-wide campaign aiming to get 6 out of 10 young people involved in social action by 2020. Social action involves activities such as campaigning, fundraising and volunteering, all of which enable participants to make a positive difference to their communities and social action develops the skills and knowledge of young people which employers look for. Tesco Bags of Help is offering community projects the chance to bag up to £4,000. Grants will be awarded every two months following a customer vote in stores. 1st place could receive up to £4,000 with 2nd and 3rd place also getting up to £2,000 and £1,000. Click here.

Does your charity work overseas? The Charity Commission wants to raise awareness amongst trustees, employees and volunteers of the risks regarding cash couriering. There has been an increase in the number of charities having cash seized from their fundraisers, agents and representatives at the UK border. This is due to active counter-terrorism measures to detect and seize illicit cash – which in an increasing number of cases, individuals claim that they are carrying on behalf of a charity.
