The Griffin Players in 'Rent' 2-4 August

The Griffin Players latest production 'Rent' at Luton Library Theatre 2-4 August.

Set in the Lower East Side of New York, at the end of the millennium, Rent is a rock opera that tells the story of a group of young Bohemians as they struggle to create and survive. Their lives are overshadowed by the rise of AIDS and life is pretty bleak until Angel bursts onto the scene with the motto “Today for you, tomorrow for me”!

Take an intimate journey through a single year in the lives of a small circle of friends and artists living their dreams, battling their demons and celebrating life on the streets of New York City's East Village. Meet would-be filmmaker Mark, sweet transvestite Angel

Rent was composed by Jonathan Larson and is based on Puccini’s opera La Boheme. It quickly became a contemporary classic and ‘Seasons of Love’ has become a much loved theatrical anthem. After winning four Tony Awards® and the Pulitzer Prize, Jonathan Larson's powerhouse musical tour de force entered the record books as the 7th-longest-running show in all Broadway history.

Tickets from £12.00 and can be booked at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/griffinplayers
